The news comes via a post on the PlayStation blog, which revealed that there would be a total of six free games across all of Sony’s platforms for Plus subscribers in August.

PlayStation 4 players will be able to get their hands on three of these. Tricky Towers, a physics- based puzzler is the headline title. In Tricky Towers, you’ll have to stack your tower while casting spells to hinder the progress of your opponents. The game is both local and online multiplayer, too,  perfect for every occasion.

Rebel Galaxy joins Tricky Towers as the other main offering on PS4, offering a space combat RPG that sees you take the wheel of a huge space destroyer as a work-for-hire mercenary or a pirate. The world is completely procedurally-generated too, meaning that every star system you explore will be entirely unique.

Rounding off the PS4 offerings is Ultraton which comes as a cross-platform offering as it’s also available on Vita. Ultratron is a twin-stick shooter which will have you battling it out in a unique retro-futuristic world against a bunch of robots. Patapon 3, the PSP rhythm game released back in 2011, rounds off the month’s offerings for Vita.

PlayStation 3 players will be able to suit up and jump into the open world of Yakuza 5 as they continue the story from the end of Yakuza 4. Retro/Grade a rhythm game that sees you ‘undo’ attacks in space to the rhythm of the beat finishes off the free games for August.
