Tekken 7 will feature at least two guest characters from other games, Bandai Namco announced today.
Bringing in characters from other franchises is no new thing, especially for fighting games. From God of War’s Kratos in Mortal Kombat X to Star War’s Yoda in Soul Calibur, the mashups are plentiful.
Hitting home release (It’s currently playable in arcades across Japan, like most Tekken launches) for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on June 2, Capcom is following up with some heavy DLC content for Tekken 7. Shortly after launch, Summer 2017 will see an additional game mode and over 50 new costumes. The first guest character and an accompanying costume and special stage lands in Winter 2017, while the second guest character and their goodies will come out in Spring 2018. The additional content can be purchased individually or together in a bundle through the season pass.
In addition, “character panels” will be free, allowing visual changes to characters during the loading screen. It is unclear at the moment whether these panels will have to be unlocked or if they will all be granted immediately.
Players can pre-order to gain access to Eliza, a vampire from PlayStation 3’s free-to-play Tekken Revolution. Those interested in Tekken Revolution have until Mar. 21 to play the online-only fighter before operation ceases.
