Today, video game archivist Youtuber PtoPOnline posted a follow up to their video from last week that uncovered the existence of a cancelled Mega Bloks game based on the Halo universe.
After thinking fans who shared the video and acknowledging the statement made by 343 Industries’ Bonnie Ross, PtoPOnline shared some raw gameplay of the game without commentary. Check it out.
The video offers just over 20 minutes of pure gameplay, in which we see a 3D platformer that seems to faithfully recreate the halo experience: fairly dynamic combat, vehicles, and physics. Many of the UI elements and sound effects are familiar, but the biggest departures seemed to be the focus on platforming and building (seen when the player constructs a bridge to drive over).
It’s clear that any game branded with Mega Bloks is meant for kids, but Haggar looks like it had potential to be a kids game with enough substance for anyone to enjoy, similar to the best offerings of the Skylanders, Lego Dimensions, and Disney Infinity (RIP) series.
