How to Get Money Fast in Yakuza Kiwami

Like in most Yakuza games, money (or Yen) is going to be critically important for you in Yakuza Kiwami. You’ll need it to play minigames like the hostess club, purchase healing and recovery items, and fix your weapons or buy new ones. Because of this, you’ll want to be making as much cash as possible, and so we’ll help give you a few tips on how to do just that.

First off, each time you fight a group of thugs or Yakuza in the city, you’ll be rewarded with a little bit of money. This means it’s fairly easy to get a good amount just by wandering around and fighting consistently. However, one of the first things you’ll want to do is head to Bob Utsunomiya at the end of Tenkaichi street, the guy dressed as a clown. Once you have 5 CP for completing various things in the game, unlock “Noveau Riche Influx” in the battle tab. This will make men in gold suits appear all over town, and if you battle them you can be rewarded with nearly 100,000 yen each time.

You can also make money from fighting in the arena at Purgatory in Kiwami. Once you reach that point in the story you can undertake a number of tournaments that each reward a pretty modest sum of money. If you really want to rack up some cash just move the difficulty down to easy and fight your way through all of the tournaments, with the later ones rewarding you with even more yen. You can also get some pretty good prizes from the point exchange.

Finally, the last way to make money quick is with the Coin Locker Keys you can find as collectibles in Yakuza Kiwami. These unlock lockers on Taihei Boulevard, and you can see how to find them here. Each locker you open has an item inside which can be a weapon, enhancement item, or oftentimes something to sell. I made 1 million yen just by selling valuables I found in the coin lockers, so make sure to check back whenever you find a key and see what you might get.
