Yakuza 6 Has Been Delayed Until April, Demo Coming Later This Month

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

Yakuza fans will have to wait just a little bit longer to get their hands on Kazuma Kiryu’s final adventure. The official Yakuza Twitter page announced today that Yakuza 6: The Song of Life has been pushed back from its March 20 release date, and will now release on April 17 in America and Europe. Luckily that’s not too much longer to wait, and there’s a bit of good news to go along with it as well.

A demo for Yakuza 6 will be coming later this month on Feb. 27, although we don’t yet know what will be included in it. Players will be able to carry over their save date from the demo to the main game when it launches.

Coincidentally that April 17 release date lands Yakuza 6 in a busy week for video games, three days before the launch of both God of War on PS4 and Nintendo Labo. That means PS4 owners get not one, but two console exclusives that week.

Yakuza 6 is the first game in the series to use the brand new Dragon Engine, and brings with it an overhauled combat system. Yakuza Kiwami 2 also runs on the Dragon Engine, although that title has yet to be confirmed for a release in the West. If you missed them, make sure to take a look at the most recent trailers for the game covering its Clan Creator and various minigames.
