SteamWorld Dig 2 Shovels its way onto the Nintendo Switch

Image & Form’s next game in the SteamWorld Dig series has been unveiled. SteamWorld Dig 2 will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch; this news comes from The Nintendo Switch Nindies Showcase.

Its metroidvania-style of gameplay has you shoveling your way through deep dark caves as a girl named Dorothy who is seeking her lost buddy. This sequel will expand on the original by adding multiple new locations and focusing on more non-linear exploration.

Currently, the title has only been announced for the Switch but the developers have said that other platforms “are to be announced”. The sequel to the highly addicting game that is SteamWorld Dig, Dig 2 plans to utilize the Switch’s unique HD Rumble feature that comes from the Joy-Con’s.

SteamWorld Dig 2 will make its debut on the Nintendo Switch come this summer. The Nintendo Switch launches worldwide on March 3, 2017 for the price of $299 USD.
