In a post on the games official reddit page on Tuesday morning the industry giants explained that “the first phase of seamless multiplayer [has been brought] online at 8:00 a.m. PST / 11:00 a.m. EST / 5 p.m. CET for Playstation 4 and we anticipate that seamless multiplayer for Xbox One will be activated by early afternoon PST / evening EST / night CET.”

Whilst fixing the games multiplayer elements, Ubisoft have also released a general update which should improve any stability issues that players may also be facing in other aspects of the game.

With the games multiplayer aspect now reactivated players will be able to invite friends or other players into co-op mode, hack into rival hackers worlds and place and receive targets for bounty hunts that take place within the online world.

While connected to the online servers, players are encouraged to keep a low profile. Although hacking and bounty hunts are encouraged, those found to be causing too much trouble throughout the campaign will be subject to an arrest warrant handed out by the in game San Fransisco police force. Once issued, other players will be notified of the pending bounty and are able to hunt down the notorious lawbreaker.
