PS5 Console Revealed by Sony; Digital Edition With No Disk Also Announced

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

During the PS5 – The Future of Gaming Show earlier today, we got our first look at both models of Sony’s brand new console. The Standard PS5 and the Digital Edition are the two different models that will be available at launch. As is implied, the digital edition lacks a Blu-ray disc drive.

Both consoles feature white plastic on the outside with black fins in between to expel hot air from. The side panels also form a slight ‘V’ shape to match the roman numeral for the number five.

The black part in the middle also appears to be slightly glossy, whereas the white panels on the sides seem to have more of a matte finish. There’s also a blue led that runs along the edge of the black part in the middle and shines onto the inside edges of the white side panels.

We also got a first look at the brand new Media Remote, DualSense Charging Station, Pulse 3D Headset, and HD Camera for the console which all match the black and white aesthetic of the new systems. You can check out the reveal trailer for both systems below and all the peripherals below.
