The Division is Ubisoft’s latest Tom Clancy inspired video game. This time, players take control of a sleeper agent who must help to rebuild New York City after a deadly virus was spread on Black Friday.

But just because you’re an agent for peace, it doesn’t mean you can’t show off at least a little. This is New York City after all, one of the fashion capitals of the world. While out saving the world one survivor at a time, you can also grab some clothing to customize your character.

The articles of clothing that are available to unlock are:

  • Hats
  • Shirts
  • Sweaters
  • Jackets
  • Gloves
  • Pants
  • Scarves
  • Sneakers
  • Boots

There are tons of different designs out there, allowing you to mix and match items to get the look you want. Of course, you’ll have to find the stuff first. There are four ways that you can acquire some fancy new duds for your character.

1. Buy Them

While not every vendor sells clothes, you an find a few options if you look around. You won’t get the best of the best, but you’ll be able to differentiate yourself at the very least.

2. Random Enemy Drops

Clothes can be dropped by enemies after you defeat them. Do keep in mind, though, that these drops are rare. You’ll more than likely end up with ammunition or an item, but you were going to kill them anyway, right?

3. Looting

There are a lot of indoor areas in The Division. Many of these locations are stores and homes. Search closets, suitcases, book bags, cabinets, and any other container you see for a chance to add new clothes to your wardrobe.

4. Helping Those in Need

This method appears to be the most fruitful. As you play the Division, you’ll come across items like canned food and bottles of water. The city has been ravaged and there are plenty of people who can use those supplies. If you see one of these individuals, they’ll be highlighted when you pass them. Give them what they ask for in exchange for 200XP and a reward that is usually an article of clothing. Do keep in mind that if playing with friends, only one of you can help out a civilian in need. So either draw straws or race to help them.

Using these methods you’ll find your closet to be overflowing with things to wear. There’s no limit on how much clothing you can carry, so feel free to unlock as much as you want.
