Persona 5 Trailers Introduce Three “Confidants” the Protagonist Can Befriend

Build your bonds.
This article is over 7 years old and may contain outdated information

Persona 5 has a number of characters that the protagonist can befriend in the game, outside of the main party. The “Confidant” system functions similarly to the social link system of past games, having you build and maintain relationships with different characters across Tokyo. By growing this bond you can gain access to skill boosts, special services, shops, and more.

Atlus has released three new trailers today, showing off a group of Confidants that you befriend. Take a look at each trailer below, along with a quick description.

Tae Takemi

The Phantom Thieves need somewhere private they can treat their wounds after battle, and Tae Takemi’s medical clinic fits the bill. It’s located in a shady alley in Tokyo, and she has a fairly dubious reputation. Helping the character with her so called “experiments,” however, can reward you with stronger health potions and consumables to use in battle.

Sojiro Sakura

Sojiro Sakura is an important character to the protagonist, and the owner of Cafe Leblanc. He agrees to take the protagonist in and give him a place to not only stay at, but work at as well. By working at the cafe you can learn recipes for curry and coffee, which are used to restore the party’s SP.

Munehisa Iwai

This imposing individual runs the finest airsoft gun shop in all of Tokyo, called Untouchable. His weapon options will be invaluable to the Phantom Thieves, and they can even assist Iwai with certain smuggling jobs. Doing so will unlock more customization options and discounts to take advantage of at his shop.

Persona 5 is scheduled to release on April 4, 2017 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. Make sure to also take a look at the newest story trailer released for the game this past weekend at PlayStation Experience.
