Ubisoft unveiled the 1.6 update patch notes for The Division today, which is coming to the PC public test server (PTS) Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 6 am ET.
The company previously detailed the update last week, saying it will add new areas, events, and leaderboards for the Dark Zone. A new change in the patch notes states that players will no longer lose experience and currency if killed in the Dark Zone and are not Rogue.
Changes outside the Dark Zone include a legendary difficulty for a few missions that eliminates all checkpoints and narrative, Gear Set adjustments, a cosmetics vendor supporting microtransactions, and loot adjustments to previous expansions Underground and Survival. The long list of patch notes for The Division can be found here, but may change since the update is still in development.
“With Updates 1.4 and 1.5, we redefined our end-game and brought a much needed layer of fun to gear progression and character building,” Ubisoft wrote in the forum post. “There have been many talks about Update 1.6 being focused on PvP, and while parts of this is true, this update goes far beyond that to address a lot of things that Update 1.4 and 1.5 couldn’t. We hope that this update will help bring yet more variety in character building with an even deeper emphasis on decisions and specialization.”
In addition, the Last Stand expansion received patch notes, but will be “activated at a later date during PTS testing.” The paid-add-on includes an eight versus eight competitive multiplayer mode and a new incursion set in “a civilian TV Broadcast center taken over by the infamous Rikers gang.”
The 1.6 update PTS is available for PC players only. Ubisoft stated it was working on a test server for console players, but “it will not be possible just yet.”
