Rocket League developer Psyonix detailed what is coming in the March update for the game, which will also be the final update for the Mac and Linux versions.

The update for all platforms changes a few default settings for the camera and controls, adds three Dynamic Range Presets for the game’s HDR Audio, and features the ability to trade in five Blueprints of the same series and rarity for a higher rarity blueprint in return.

The March update also disables all online features for the Mac and Linux versions, such as matchmaking and in-game purchases.

Last January, the studio announced it would be ending support for the Mac and Linux versions of Rocket League. Psyonix said the reason behind ending support was that it plans to update the Windows PC version from Direct X9 to Direct X11 later this year, and updating the native Mac and Linux clients to reflect that change would be more work than its worth.

Psyonix said that the number of active players on Mac and Linux combined represented “less than 0.3% of our active player base.”

While the online features for those platforms will be disabled after the patch, the game will still be playable offline. Also, those Steam players who are affected will have access to the Windows version of the game and will receive full functionality by switching over to a PC.

The update will go live for all platforms on March 10 at 1 p.m. ET. Psyonix said that Mac and Linux players who want a refund of the game must do so before June 10, 2020, regardless of when it was purchased or the amount of time played.
