During their big PlayStation meeting today, Sony finally unveiled the new high-end model of PlayStation 4 in development, called the PS4 Pro.
Sony says that the PS4 Pro is designed to sit alongside and compliment the PS4, giving games the abiltiy to be displayed in 4K and HDR, for those that own a display with the capabilities. It also doubles the GPU power of the system, comes packed with a 1TB Hard Drive and you’ll also have the ability to transfer your game library from PS4 to Pro. Mark Cerny, the architect of the PlayStation 4, said during the event that PS4 Pro isn’t intended to blur the lines between console generations, but improve upon what we have now. Some games will be optimized for PS4 Pro, but the majority of games released should be playable on both versions of the hardware.
After the announcement, Sony showed off some impressive footage of games displaying in 4K including Watch Dogs, 2, Insomniac’s Spider Man, For Honor, Horizon: Zero Dawn and even Mass Effect: Andromeda.
Activitsion also announced during the event that Call of Duty: Black Ops, Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered will all have PS4 Pro support out of the box.
PS4 Pro will be available on November 10, 2016 with a price point of $399.
