No Man’s Sky’s latest update, titled BEYOND, is nearly out, and developer Hello Games has released a launch trailer teasing the expansive array of features coming to the game.
Streamed on Aug. 8, the trailer kicks off with a bold claim: Everything in No Man’s Sky’s worlds, from the leaves on each tree to the oceans and terrain, will be randomly generated, ensuring a unique experience for every player.
It then moves into footage of the game in action with the BEYOND update applied. Either on foot, via space craft or with a variety of other traversal methods, players can take to the stars, explore new planets, build new structures and make new discoveries.
This includes exploring the oceans and underwater areas of each world, which are teeming with even more life and dangers than ever before.
All of this and more are available with the option of going it alone or alongside other players exploring No Man’s Sky’s universes, who can be seen setting off on their own adventures and tasks in the background.
It’s a sight to behold, and No Man’s Sky players only have to wait until Aug. 14 to see it for themselves. Anyone interested should check out the trailer in its entirety below.
Initially released on Aug. 9, 2016 on PlayStation 4 Xbox One and PC, No Man’s Sky was met with criticism for its lack of depth and not living up to its lofty promises of giving players a diverse and endless array of planets and universes to explore.
However, in the years since, Hello Games has implemented several updates which have attempted to make good on their initial promises. This includes more refined multiplayer, underwater exploration and new ways to interact with a planet’s ecosystem.
The studio’s commitment to the game hasn’t gone unnoticed either. Back in June, a fan of No Man’s Sky held a highly successful GoFundMe campaign aimed at purchasing a billboard to publicly thank Hello Games on behalf of the game’s fandom.
