Hitman’s Elusive Target is the hardest challenge that the franchise has offered its players. Each target will only appear for a set amount of days before they are gone for good. Players will only have one chance to kill their target and must live with the choices they make during each contract. With two Elusive Targets down, it’s time we shifted our focus to the third contract simply titled “The Prince.” Set in the Sapienza stage, our hitman’s target is a high-ranking cardinal with ties to various political problems in South America.  He has taken over the church and is arguably the most well-guarded target in the entire game, with very little openings for you to strike.

Set in the Sapienza stage, our hitman’s target is a high-ranking cardinal with ties to various political problems in South America.  He has taken over the church and his arguably the most well-guarded target in the entire game, with very little openings for you to strike.

However, we have your back and have figured out a way to kill the dear cardinal with no witnesses and no chance of the body being found. We’re off to church.

Part One: Preparation

Hitman

Since there is no way to actually start in the church, make sure you spawn in either the safe house or the main starting square outside of the large mansion. None of the disguises you can spawn in with will help you here, so there is no point wasting time in trying to slip out of the mansion unnoticed. We decided to complete this kill with the minimum level gear since not everyone will be Rank 20. Once you exit the safe house make your way down to the church and head towards the morgue on the far end. The church is heavily guarded and this seems to be the weakest point of entry, as the church staff member is left unguarded at the front desk.

Enter the morgue, shut the doors behind you, and knock him out. Make sure to pick up his church key, take his disguise, and drag him into locked room behind you. Hide the body next to the corpse on the table and carefully exit the side door. The church staff disguise is not immunity, as any other staff members and the main priest will be able to see right through it. Always avoid the church staff’s line of sight and if you are getting spotted duck behind some cover until they leave you alone.

Thankfully, neither the bodyguards or the cardinal will be able to identify you in the church disguise, so moving around them will not raise any suspicions unless you head to the basement. Once in the chapel, hide behind a pillar or in the confession booth, just make sure the staff member on the balcony doesn’t see you, and wait for the regular priest to show up. Him and the cardinal will talk for a moment and then will head into the basement. Slowly follow them downstairs, but instead of going into the actual cellar, hang a left and enter the security room.

For whatever reason nobody goes into this room aside from the priest, so quickly destroy any security camera evidence and just wait by the door. Eventually, the priest, cardinal, and his bodyguard will finish talking and disperse. The priest will leave first, so make sure to knock him out and drag him into the security room. There are no places to stash the body, but since he is the only person who goes into this area you don’t run the risk of being seen. Now that you have a location, it’s time for your hitman to execute the target.

Part Two: Kill The Cardinal

Hitman

The basement is where you will be killing your target, but it’s not going to happen directly on this cycle. Soon both the cardinal and the bodyguard will exit the cellar and head up the staircase, but thankfully his protection trails just far enough behind him that they won’t be spotted. Sneak up behind the bodyguard and knock him out, but do not try to incapacitate them on the staircase. For whatever reason the game will only let you actually punch them on stairs, so you need to wait until he is either at the base of the stairs or about to step onto the second set of them. If you’re not quick enough, don’t panic. The cardinal will continue along this route and return to the basement once again.

Hide the bodyguard in the security room with the priest and wait by the door once again. The cardinal’s route is fairly long, but he will eventually make his way back down into the basement. Now, you can either try and catch him before he enters the cellar or when he is exiting it, as he is completely unguarded now. Break his neck and stash the body in the security room with the others and quickly make your way up the staircase.

Before exiting, check to see if there are any church staff members right outside of the basement’s entrance. The last thing you want is to be spotted after completing your actual hitman contract. Once the coast his clear exit the church the exact same way you came in. Make your way out onto the street, head towards the boat off to the left of the church, and exit the map. Congratulations, you have successfully killed the cardinal with no witnesses or bodies found!

Now this is just one way to kill the cardinal, but we found that it was one of the safest methods that won’t run the risk of you getting spotted. For you adventurous types, he will conveniently stand exactly where the church’s bell is over so you can drop it on him. Just exiting the actual chapel will be a nightmare. Let us know below how you killed the cardinal!
