Use Items – God Eater 2: Rage Burst

Recommended Videos

Items can help you survive even the toughest of battles in God Eater 2: Rage Burst, but they can be somewhat tricky to use. Since you can’t actually pause the gameplay (even when playing solo and offline), you’re stuck using an onscreen menu that disables some of your actions while in use, making it necessary to find safety and be aware of your surroundings before using an item.

To bring up the item menu press R3/RS (click on the right thumbstick). This will bring up a small menu on the bottom of your screen. You can scroll through your available items by pressing L1 and R1/ LB and RB. Once you’ve highlighted the item you want, press Square/X to use it. Do keep in mind that item usage isn’t instantaneous, there is an animation that needs to be completed and you can’t simply cancel out of it once you start.

Another thing to note is that you can’t dash, sprint, guard, or use an attack with the menu open. You’ll have to close the item menu (either clicking the right stick again or pressing Cirlcle/B), or use an item to get it to go away. Getting attacked will also close this menu, but you probably don’t want to close it that way.
