Bandai Namco revealed last week that some sort of major Dark Souls III announcement will be coming our way on August 24th. Well, it’s not quite the 24th just yet in the western hemisphere but it’s pretty close in Japan and news has already spread that the mystery announcement is indeed related to the first piece of DLC for Dark Souls III, just as many gamers have suspected.
According to Famitsu a (via NeoGAF), the first piece of downloadable content for Dark Souls III is scheduled to launch in Japan on October 25th for the price of 1,200 yen, which is the equivalent of about $12. The first DLC pack will offer a new snow-covered PvP map entitled Immortal Competition, new weapons and armor, and even an original PS4 theme. Unfortunately, there’s no word just yet about any possible PvE content, so we’ll just have to wait for the official announcement from Namco in order to hear more about that.
Famitsu also revealed that there will be an additional DLC pack for Dark Souls III at some point further down the line. Gamers will be able to purchase the DLCs individually or by simply grabbing the Season Pass, which grants access to all the additional content for 2,000 yen, or the equivalent of approximately $20.
