Marvel’s Avengers

marvel's avengers, 2020 video game delays

Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics’ Marvel’s Avengers game allows players to team up and form their own group of superheroes as they take on missions and objectives together. They can earn more powerful gear and upgrades and interact with NPCs at the hub world. Imagine something like EA and BioWare’s Anthem but with Marvel’s cast of superheroes at the helm instead.

Following its first initial reveal at E3 last year, the reception was mixed. The game just didn’t look like it had the level of polish expected from a AAA title. Character models looked janky and gameplay generally seemed clunky.

Unsurprisingly, in January this year the news came that Marvel’s Avengers was being delayed to September in order to give the development team the time to “make the ultimate Avengers gaming experience.” Judging by its most recent showcasing, however, we’re still a little hesitant it’ll deliver on expectations.

New Release Date: Sept. 4, 2020
