EA’s Battlefront II Getting Clone Wars Content Later This Year

During EA Play 2018, EA announced that Battlefront II will be bringing the popular prequel era, The Clone Wars, to the game later this year.

Although no date was given, the Clone Wars content was confirmed to be coming sometime in 2018. This season of content will not only feature the planet Geonosis, but it will also feature the largest Battlefront II map to date. No other planets were named during the conference.

Alongside Geonosis, new heroes will be making an appearance as well. Those heroes are General Grievous, Obi Wan Kenobi, Count Dooku and of course, Obi Wan’s unruly apprentice, Anakin Skywalker. It’s unclear if more heroes will be coming alongside those four.

Before all of that, though, Battlefront II will be receiving a brand new team-up system. EA didn’t expand on this, but that system will make its way into the game very soon. A new dogfighting mode will be added as well, placing two teams of hero ships against one another in a battle for galactic space. Furthermore, a new large-scale, multiplayer, “sandbox experience” will come to the game this summer. This new mode, which EA didn’t title during their conference, will see players focusing on capturing command posts and taking out enemy ships.

More info on the Clone Wars content coming to the game will come at a later date.

Battlefront II is out now for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and just recently began its second season of content, this time based around the new Solo: A Star Wars Story movie.
