Get ready to brush up on your gaming skills as Devil May Cry 5 will dynamically adjust the tune of its songs based on the player’s style ranking.

Speaking to Gamespark (via DMC5Info), game producer Michi Okabe said the background music will become more exciting as players improve their style ranking. Essentially, the melody shifts and implements choruses as you go up the stylish ranks from D, C, B, A, S, SS to SSS.

In past Devil May Cry games, players can improve their stylish rank by chaining various types of attacks and maintaining the combo meter. Using the same types of moves will see diminishing returns in increasing your ranking. In Ninja Theory’s DmC, the game speed also increased as you moved up the style ranks, though this has yet to be confirmed for Devil May Cry 5.

Dynamic soundtrack isn’t exactly new in the Devil May Cry series, with DmC being the first to incorporate this mechanic. Other notable video games that used a dynamic soundtrack include Metal Gear Rising, Bayonetta, and Remember Me.

Devil May Cry 5 is scheduled to launch sometime in Spring 2019 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Capcom promises to deliver more details and fresh gameplay at GamesCom 2018, with the developers even teasing a playable demo for attendees.
