Path of the Voidwalker
The Path of the Voidwalker doesn’t differ too much from the Path of the Sunsinger until the very end of the questline. The last challenge can be a bit frustrating, but we have you covered.
Slay Enemies – Defeat 50 enemies with your Nova Bomb, grenade, or melee attack
This one is easy, just as it was with the Sunsinger. Simply kill 50 enemies with your abilities while playing. I suggest equipping the Bloom and Energy Drain modifiers to your melee in order to charge up your abilities quickly, as well as take out large groups with a single attack.
Create Orbs of Light – Generate 25 Orbs using your Nova Bomb
Unlike Radiance, the Nova Bomb is a single attack, but with a few modifiers, it can easily clear an entire room. Bloom and Shatter will allow the Nova Bomb to cover a much wider area by splitting into three different projectiles, while also having the ability to kill those directly in the blast with Bloom’s explosions. Again, it’s recommended to do this on the moon or any mission where a lot of thrall appear, since that will just speed up your progress.
Complete the Path – Fully upgrade the Voidwalker subclass
Many of you may have already completed this over the course of the past year. If so, this will be auto completed. If you haven’t, then just play the game to earn some experience. If you’re doing it from scratch, it will take some time. Although, you will be well underway because you needed some skills in this subclass to complete the previous challenges. Complete bounties and quests to earn extra XP and make this go faster.
Ikora’s Challenge – Complete a Strike using a Nova Bomb to generate seven Orbs in a single blast three times
This is the challenging part if you approach it the wrong way. Not only must you get your special to generate seven orbs on three separate occasions, you must also do it all during one strike. Before attempting this, make a Fireteam with two people you know. That way, they won’t steal your kills. Next, be aware that you can leave the strike area; you just have to be in a Strike, not in its darkness zones, and that makes a world of difference.
I completed this during the Devil’s Lair Strike and headed over to the Lunar Complex. There are tons of Thrall and Acolytes in this building, as well as a few Fallen. Charge up your special and head to one of the rooms using your allies as bait to draw enemies in close (this works especially well with thrall, since they are melee only). Cast your special, rinse, and repeat. Once done three times, simply complete the strike and you’re all set.
Completing this questline nets you the Voidwalker’s Bond for use on your Warlock. Remember, you must reach level 40 in Destiny: The Taken King before being able to use it.
Safe travels, guardians.
