HOW TO SWITCH TO YOUR POWER WEAPON IN DESTINY 2

Recommended Videos

As fans of the first game will know, Destiny 2 is a first-person shooter that will see you take on aliens from other planets or other Guardians in the Crucible. Loot is also an important part and you’ll be consistently chopping and changing your loadout to decide which weapons are best for you. You have three slots to fill (Kinect Weapon, Energy Weapon, and Power Weapon) and you can switch between them on the fly.

To change weapons in Destiny 2 you’ll need to use the Triangle/Y button on your respective controller (mouse wheel and number keys on PC). Pressing the button will switch you between your kinetic and energy weapon slot (which used to be called primary and secondary). To switch to your power weapon, Destiny 2’s major heavy hitters, you’ll need to hold the button down.

When it comes to changing which weapons are in each slot and which power weapon you have at your disposal, you’ll need to actually go into the character menu to do so. You can carry nine extra weapons of each type and you change them by hovering the selector over the one you want to equip and pressing X/A. Now, when you hit Triangle/Y while playing, you’ll be able to change to the new weapon or alternate power weapon you just equipped.

That is all there is to switching power weapons in Destiny 2. You’ll be finding many new power weapons, so be sure to switch them up regularly to work out which is your favorite.
