Experiment With Crazy Battle Seasonal Content
The whole Sundial battle content in Destiny 2: Season of Dawn is fine. It’s a major improvement over Season of the Undying’s Vex Invasion, but it’s debatable if it’s better than The Menagerie. They are very similar at the end of the day.
I think most players can stomach the Sundial, but if next season adds yet another Menagerie variant it’s going to start to get very stale.
If the seasonal battle content is going to be removed each season, then Bungie should feel especially free to get weird with it. As long as it’s rewarding, which all of these Menagerie variants have been thus far, I think players could live with some funky ideas from time to time.
A return to the Prison of Elders would be neat for one season, or just a straight up Gears of War style horde mode. Borrow ideas from other similar games such as MMORPGs. This is the perfect time for Bungie to try stuff out and see what sticks for consideration for future permanent content whether it’s another Destiny 2 expansion or perhaps Destiny 3 if that’s still going to be a thing.
