Capcom Has Suspended the RE:Verse Open Beta Due to Matchmaking Issues

RE:Verse was officially unveiled alongside Resident Evil Village, and was set to be the new big multiplayer mode that players would be able to jump into as a break from the single-player campaign. The mode is set up as a 6-player deathmatch style game where players can play as iconic character from all over the series while trying to shoot each other up. And of course, there are also tons of iconic maps from the series, such as the RPD from Resident Evil 2.

RE:Verse was all set to have an open beta this weekend, running till April 11. However, after it went live earlier today, it seemed that players were running into all sorts of matchmaking issues that made it almost impossible to even start a match. In lieu of those issues, Capcom has since pulled the beta offline.

The company has stated the beta has been suspended till further notice as the developers continue to investigate the issue. Hopefully it’ll be back online soon before the original end date, or that it’ll get an extension.

Resident Evil Village is set to be released for PC and consoles on May 7.
