Call of Duty: WWII Gives First Look At Its New Dedicated Social Space, Headquarters

It's like Destiny's Tower... but during Word War II

Even if you’re not a hardcore fan of the Call of Duty series, you can’t help but admit that Call of Duty: WWII just has a knack for capturing attention. In addition to being one of the most highly anticipated games of the year, like every Call of Duty game seems to be, WWII is flaunting new features and game modes that look incredibly impressive. It hasn’t been too long since Call of Duty: WWII flaunted the return of the fan-favorite zombie mode with a horrifying trailer and now another new trailer for the game is teasing a dedicated social space called Headquarters. Long story short, it’s Call of Duty: WWII’s version of Destiny’s Tower but with a few added twists that could make this one of the most entertaining social spaces a game has rolled out in the past few years.

The new Headquarters space serves the purpose of being exactly that—your headquarters—but it does so in a way that the Call of Duty community will probably appreciate more than any other gaming community could. The Call of Duty fanbase is an intensively competitive one so it seems fitting that even Call of Duty: WWII’s social space would allow players to go head-to-head with one another. In addition to being a glorified lobby that allows players to run around and interact with one another casually, Headquarters will also provide spaces for you to train with new weapons, compete against other players for high scores in the shooting range and even hold 1v1 matches to see who is truly the best soldier out there on the battlefield. While it hasn’t necessarily been confirmed, the trailer also suggests that other players will be able to spectate all the competition by standing on the sidelines. If this is the case, it seems like a really fun way to make the social space even more interactive and entertaining while also allowing players to indulge in the game’s competitive spirit.

Quite frankly, if teaser trailers can be trusted, Headquarters and Zombies is more than enough reason to be anxiously tapping your foot and counting down the seconds until you can finally get your hands on Call of Duty: WWII. If you’re already that person and won’t be able to stand waiting a second longer than required for you to dive right into the action, you’ll be pleased to know that pre-loading for the Call of Duty: WWII beta kicks off today for PS4 players with digital pre-orders. No word just yet on when pre-loading will be available for Xbox One players with digital pre-orders but it will likely be a while since the beta will be hitting PS4 a week earlier. The beta is slated to go live on PS4 on August 25 but players on Xbox One will have to wait until September 1.
