It's back, and better than ever.

Last month, 343 sorta casually revealed that Halo 5 would be getting a Firefight mode in their Warzone gametype. Firefight was Halo’s answer to Gears of War’s Horde mode that pit four players against wave after wave of increasingly difficult enemies and was pretty dang fun. Last night during the Halo World Championships, 343 finally showed off what they’re offering with Warzone Firefight.

Here, the player count has doubled to eight, and to add to the tension, there’s even more enemies on screen, dynamic objectives, and a timer to boot. Fun. The new “Mythic Enemies” will make the Warden Eternal in the base Warzone games look like a cakewalk, and it’s been boasted that Warzone Firefight has “the most on-screen enemies in the history of the franchise”. Thankfully, the REQ system will be available for you to unleash your best weapons on them. Good luck, Spartan.

Halo 5’s Warzone Firefight hits this summer. Excited? Let us know in the comments below.
