To fans of Final Fantasy VII, the new footage of the Remake shown at PlayStation Experience 2015 was all familiar. We got our first look at main Avalanche members Biggs, Wedge, and Jessie, as well as proper, front-facing shots of Cloud and Barret.

Several iconic moments from the opening hours of the game were shown including Cloud being surrounded by SOLDIERs, Cloud jumping off the train at the very start, and of course the first boss fight, Cloud and Barret vs. Guard Scorpion. The trailer also included English voice-overs, seemingly confirming the return of Steve Burton as Cloud, as he has portrayed him since the days of Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.

The trailer also showed off the new action-oriented gameplay for the remake, which looks akin to the upcoming Final Fantasy XV in its fluidity and lack of turn-based combat. Check it out in all its glory right now.

Final Fantasy VII Remake will be launching first on PlayStation 4. For now, the PS4 port of the PC port of the original Final Fantasy VII is finally available to purchase starting today. Not enough Cloud Strife for you? Well he’s also coming to Super Smash Bros. as a playable character in 2016.
