Uncharted 4, the final installment in Nathan Drake’s story from Naughty Dog has been delayed and is set to release on April 26, 2016 according to a blog post from Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley.
“The bad news is that we need a bit more time to finish the game so that it meets our standards and vision.” the creative director and game director wrote via the PlayStation blog. “Let’s cut to the chase, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has a new release date in North America of April 26, 2016.”
The game had been slated to release March 18, 2016 after Naughty Dog delayed it from their original release date in 2015.
The logic behind the delay was simple, the extra month would provide the team enough time to add the needed polish to certain aspects of the game. Druckmann and Straley said “As we approached our final deadlines and started wrapping up the game’s levels, we realized that several key sequences needed extra resources to bring them to the finish line. After carefully considering all of our options, we decided to extend our schedule, making sure that we get a few more polish passes before submitting our gold master (the final disc for manufacturing)”
Uncharted 4 is one of the most anticipated PlayStation 4-exclusive titles coming in 2016, and though the delay may come as a bit of let-down for some, games are generally better off taking their time.
Also, let us never forget, #ColinWasRight.
I predict Uncharted 4 will be delayed from its March 18, 2016 launch date. Though I hope and pray I'm wrong.
