It looks like Capcom were actually listening to the PC gaming world when it came to Resident Evil Revelations 2. Many PC users wanted to delve into the game with local co-op but were unable to do so. That is until now, as Capcom have released an open ebta patch on Steam that offers just that feature.
The patch will allow two players to play the game in both Raid and Story modes locally using split screen views on the monitor. On the subject, Capcom said “We want to get this feature in the hands of our PC players as soon as possible, so this option may not be 100 per cent polished when it is released.”
In order to dive into playing Resident Evil Revelations 2 on PC using local co-op, there are a small handful of loops to be jumped through.
In Resident Evil Revelations 2‘s Raid Mode, player 2 has to press the Start button when in the Vestibule area to activate split-screen mode. After selecting your character and fiddling with your loadout, Raid missions can be chosen as normal. As soon as the Vestibule is left, Resident Evil Revelations 2 returns to normal.
For the campaign things are much the same but with fewer steps. Simply press the Start button on the second player’s controller and you’re both ready to roll.
There is still no word on exactly when Resident Evil Revelations 2 will get online co-op on PC, but Capcom are adamant that this will arrive by the time the game is released in its full form, rather than in the current episodic format.
