Relentless
Jason’s Relentless variation finally unravels the mystery of how he is always able to catch up to those running victims. Jason always seems to move at a snail’s pace, never giving into the running and yelling of his horror movie colleagues. Yet, he always manages to be right behind the next to die at the most opportune moments. It turns out he has the ability to teleport, and really mess with their sense of direction. Relentless grants Jason the ability to pursue his opponent no matter where they go in the stage.
Pursuit and Dark Pursuit has Jason issue a threat that temporarily prevents his opponent from running and/or dashing. It also reverses their controls making it extremely useful against human kombatants, although not much so against AI. Using Lake Mist places Jason right behind his opponent. It doesn’t have the quickest animation so it’s best to use against those under the influence of Dark Pursuit, in the middle of an attack, or who happen to be stunned for one reason or another. Blood Mist does the same thing, though slightly quicker.
Of course, just being able to constantly be beside his opponent isn’t all that makes Jason’s Relentless variation so potent. Like Unstoppable, this variation also has a passive ability. Damned increases Jason’s damage output as his health decreases, making him perfect for newcomers, or those who like to play extra aggressive. On higher difficulties, Damned really comes in handy during those clutch moments in really close fights.
