Celebrate Kingdom Hearts’ 15th Anniversary With a New Tetsuya Nomura Illustration

Super grown-up Sora.
This article is over 7 years old and may contain outdated information

Kingdom Hearts was first introduced to the world on March 28, about 15 years ago. With this year being the beloved series’ 15th anniversary, creator and character designer Tetsuya Nomura has shared a new illustration of Sora on the game’s official Twitter account. You can check out the tweet and the lovely artwork down below.

Sora certainly looks older in this new piece of art, and he’s dressed in some new, spiffy-looking clothes, though his shoes are still way too big for him. The image is a little obscured by the date and words, but it looks like there’s some sort of pet in his lap as well. It’s a little hard to make out what it is exactly, but perhaps it might have some sort of connection to future games in the series.

Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue was released earlier this year, and the new compilation 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX saw its release just yesterday. Kingdom Hearts III was originally announced back at E3 2013, though we still don’t know when we’ll ever see that game.
