Activision Calls Destiny 2 Its Biggest PC Launch of All Time

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

It’s been a little quiet for Destiny 2 until recently, with the hype for the upcoming Warmind expansion growing as the days pass us by. But don’t mistake the quiet for the game being unsuccessful, as Activision has just announced some very interesting news related to the game. It appears that Destiny 2’s PC launch was a massive success, especially as Activision has claimed that it’s the second highest-grossing game fo consoles in 2017, and the best-performing game on PC than any other game in Activision’s history with PC gaming. Those are impressive stats, to say the least.

Activision mentioned the milestone as one of its company highlights in 2017 as part of its 2018 annual meeting notice, where it made a mention that Destiny 2’s expansion pass was part of the reason the company ended up with $1 billion in revenue in 2017. There are additional results for Q1 in terms of Activision’s business ventures scheduled for release tomorrow with additional information on the company’s prosperous quarter.

Destiny 2’s second and final expansion Warmind, in the meantime, is scheduled for release on May 8 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Keep it locked on Twinfinite for full impressions of the massive update, which just may very well be one of the biggest reasons to jump back into the game, even if it’s just for a while.
