The Recluse

I’m sorry, but a picture felt necessary

This new monster, the Recluse, is an arachnid that navigates alien planets with it’s eight legs and lies in wait to capture unsuspecting hunters in it’s poisonous webs. This monster, completely made up and not hinted at by Turtle Rock in anyway, would be an excellent addition to the game, because it would serve as an alternate stealth choice for players looking for something more strategic than the Wraith.

The recluse would be fast on land and have the unique ability of holding a climb. When other monsters climb, they simply mount an obstacle, but when the Recluse does it, it has the ability to stay lodged against the side of a tree or cliff. It’s special ability would be the option of laying an egg and having a baby spider minion, creating an invisible and poisonous web trap that lies in wait for unsuspecting hunters to pass through,  a web shot that grabs and pulls at a target with a poisonous web, and the stun bite that incapacitates one hunter caught in the Recluse’s embrace.

Is the Recluse a possible addition to the game? Probably not. But a spider-type enemy seems like an obvious candidate for the game. It fits well with the hunter and hunted mechanics and would force players to carefully navigate the maps.
