A new TGS trailer for World of Final Fantasy is here, and it’s deliriously cute.
Following the PAX trailer seen at the beginning of the month, an English trailer showcases the game’s story and details a little more in-depth. Serving as a re-imagining of the Final Fantasy world in Chibi form, World of Final Fantasy will follow the adventures of two young heroes as they find themselves transported to the land of Grymoire.
On their quest to make it back home, the two will run into a variety of characters from the series. Shiva, Ifrit, Marlboro, and Odin can all be glimpsed in the trailer, and right at the end it’s revealed that pre-orders for the game will be rewarded with a day one Sephiroth summon.
You might think it would be a tall order to make the despicable Final Fantasy VII villain remotely cute or lovable, but if the trailer is anything to go by then Square will manage it. The game serves as a very pleasing visual contradiction to the upcoming Final Fantasy XV – which looks stunning albeit in a less cutesy way.
World of Final Fantasy will be released for the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita (it’s nice to see some support) in just over a month on October 25th.
