Who says vampires don’t like the summer holidays?
Vampyr launched on PC, PS4 and Xbox One back in early June, and brought the dour atmosphere of early 1900’s London to the forefront with its narrative-driven action. Those who are thirsty for more will be delighted to know that the game will be receiving two new modes in an upcoming summer update, as confirmed on DONTNOD Entertainment’s social media.
The first is a ‘Story’ mode that reportedly de-emphasizes combat, scaling back the difficulty of your skirmishes in favor of placing the emphasis on the grim tale of Dr. Reid. If that doesn’t sound like something you’d like to sink your teeth into, the other newly introduced option, simply called ‘Hard’ mode, ramps up the challenge in battle. Not only does this make enemies more difficult to overcome, but it also decreases the amount of experience gained from killing them. You’ll have to turn to the citizens to grow in power if you don’t want to end up constantly pummelled by thugs in the alleyway.
No exact date has been specified as of yet, but it will also come with a variety of optimization tweaks, and to celebrate the moment, Vampyr has gotten a healthy 25% price cut on Steam. Whether you’re yet to try out this spooky romp, or if you were just waiting in the wings for more content, this ought to be your chance to take back the night.
