The Surge 2’s Launch Trailer Is Packed With More Sci-Fi Limb Dismembering Goodness

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

The original Surge was released back in 2017, and while we weren’t that impressed with the game overall, it did have a lot of potential as a sci-fi Souls-like game. Deck13 Interactive is back with The Surge 2, and it’s shaping up to be a pretty nice step up from its predecessor.

Focus Home Interactive and Deck13 have just dropped the launch trailer for the game, which you can check out down below:

Just like in the first game, The Surge 2 continues to iterate and improve upon the dynamic targeting system, where you get to lock on to different limbs on an enemy’s body. By dismembering specific limbs or parts of the body, you can get different resources or materials used to craft and improve your frame and equipment.

The game takes place in an entirely new setting, and looks to be even more ambitious than the first one. The trailer also gave us a look at various weapons and character builds, which is already an improvement from the first game, which just felt too limited when it came to build and character variety.

The Surge 2 is set to be released for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on Sept. 24. We’ll have our review and full thoughts on the game up soon.
