Developed by indie developer Mouldy Touf, The Escapists was a big hit when it first came out in 2015 for PC, later making its way to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Dozens of weapons and tools are available to be crafted, either through trial and error or through recipes which listed the ingredients. Contraband then hand to be hidden in creative ways, as cells were routinely checked. Daily prison tasks also had to be completed, such as laundry or cleaning, which made planning crucial.
