Publisher Team17 has announced The Escapists’ arrival to iOS and Android on Mar. 2. Developed by indie developer Mouldy Touf, The Escapists was a big hit when it first came out in 2015 for PC, later making its way to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The Escapists threw players into the role of an inmate with the goal of breaking out of prisons that got increasingly difficult. The biggest aspect of the game was the crafting system. Dozens of weapons and tools are available to be crafted, either through trial and error or through recipes which listed the ingredients. Contraband then hand to be hidden in creative ways, as cells were routinely checked. Daily prison tasks also had to be completed, such as laundry or cleaning, which made planning crucial.
The success of The Escapists spawned five DLC packs and a The Walking Dead standalone edition was later released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
The same fun can be had in just a few days. The mobile version will have the option of using a virtual d-pad or the touch screen.
