Fan-favorite multiplayer map War Machine from the original Gears of War receives a colorful makeover for the latest entry. The other map is Impact Dark, a nighttime variant of the Gears of War 4 launch map with more smoke to reduce visibility and all weapon spawns have been changed with different weapons. Season pass holders can play both maps in Team Deathmatch, King of the Hill, and Guardian modes from the developer’s playlist today, and the playlist offers double XP and 20% more credits.

Multiplayer mode Torque Bow Tag, which replaces all weapons with the explosive crossbow, receives a “Cupid-style twist” for Valentine’s Day and marks a week-long event starting Feb. 10. The event will add new Gear Packs, Valentine’s Day themed bounties, and a craftable character.

Additionally, the spawn system has been improved in Guardian due to fan feedback. Players will now spawn closer to their leader after death, instead of a random spawn point.

The Coalition wrote in the post that pre-game lobbies for Core and Competitive playlists and more legacy characters are returning in the March update, though will detail closer to release. The studio also teased more achievements, skills, and new difficulty modes for Horde and Campaign would be coming this Summer.
