Nintendo Is Making Us Choose Between Friends or Family for Upcoming Splatfest

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

Every month, Nintendo hosts a polarizing Splatfest for Splatoon 2 that pits your friends against one another in order to come out on top to prove which of the two options is the best. This time around for the winter-themed competition, the ultimate question will be answered and blood err we mean ink will be spilled.

The question asks: “Who do you get most excited to spend the holidays with? Family or Friends? Will you keep it all in the #TeamFamily? Or kick back with #TeamFriends?”

This Splatfest will be running for 48 hours and will begin at 2 p.m. PT on Jan 1, 2019. Yes, we know that this one is a ways off, but that just gives you extra time to make your decision and gather your team together. Force your friends to join your side and if they don’t agree with you, then they must not be true friends.

Also, keeping with the holiday spirit, some festive gift items will be available such as New Year’s glasses, party hats, and much much more. More details on these items will be shown off sometime in late December via the Squid Research Lab Report on the Nintendo Switch News Channel.

Splatoon 2 is now out for the Nintendo Switch. You can read our review of the game right here and while you’re at it, make sure to check out our wiki guide as well.
