Hot on the heels of today’s release date trailer, Netflix has released several new screenshots of its The Witcher adaptation. A batch of six stills showcases some previously unseen locations and scenes, as well a bonus one that features Anya Charlotra (Yennifer) behind the scenes.
If you’ve read The Last Wish, the books on which this first season is based on, you’ll definitely recognize some of the scenes. Geralt battling Renfri’s goons, for example, before later meeting her.
But we also see Queen Kalis, Meve’s mother, who hasn’t actually featured in any canonical source outside of the show so far. So there’s definitely some poetic license being applied to the arrangement of this first season.
Finally, as mentioned above, Anya Chalotra can be seen looking through the lens of a camera. Perhaps she’s directed an episode? Redianian Intelligence seems to think so.
You can check them out in the below gallery.
And, of course, if you have not already seen today’s trailer then do check it out right here. It revealed The Witcher Netflix’s release date as Dec. 20, which is three days later than expected after Netflix Holland mistakenly leaked a faux release date earlier this year.
Today’s new screenshots and trailer follow on from its first teaser back in July at the San Diego Comic-Con, which you can watch right here.
