Today Xbox’s Corporate Vice President for Gaming Mike Ybarra announced his departure from Microsoft.
Ybarra, who worked at the company for nearly twenty years, mentioning that he’s pursuing his “next adventire” but he did not mention where he will work next just yet.
That being said, he did say that he’ll reveal his destination soon.
In the past five-plus years Ybarra worked at a high level on the Xbox platform, with his latest endeavors being the creation of Xbox Game Pass and a leadership role on Mixer.
He started his career in 1997 with a couple of years at Hewlett Packard, moving to Microsoft in 2000 where he started as a system engineer.
He then grew through the ranks including a three-year tenure in 2006 as the General Manager of Windows 7, then moving to Xbox Live in 2009. Since then he has always worked on the Xbox Platform in various capacities.
Head of Xbox Phil Spencer himself followed up the announcement by thanking Ybarra for his work at the company and wishing him the best.
