The Last Blockbuster in the World Has Been Converted to an Airbnb

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Starting on Aug 17, fans of the old-school movie/video game rental store can have a 90s themed sleepover with their friends in the last Blockbuster location in the entire world.

It’s located in Bend, Oregon, and has been converted into a real-life Airbnb that people can rent out. You can make reservations here if you’re interested, but let’s check out some of these cool photos, shall we?

The main living room space, as you can see below, has a lovely couch for all your friends to lounge on, and there’s also a beanbag chair in the corner –I call dibs!

The aisles and aisles of movies and video games also serve as a nostalgic and somewhat creepy atmosphere while you’re watching DVDs from the early 2000s.

Oh? And would you look at that! The couch folds out into a makeshift bed. That’s really something.

No sour gummy worms? Come on, be rational.

These bedsheets are totally giving me Saved by the Bell and 90s Taco Bell vibes –love to see it.

And here’s a description of the Airbnb listing to get a sense of what to expect from your Blockbuster suite:

Whether you want to stay up until sunrise or pass out on the couch, we’ve created the perfect space complete with a pull-out couch, bean bags and pillows for you to cozy up with “new releases” from the ‘90s. Crack open a two-liter of Pepsi before locking into a video game, charting your future in a game of MASH, or watching movie after movie.

But be wary of reciting “Bloody Mary” in the staff bathroom off of the break room, as you just may summon the ghost rumored to haunt the store. And help yourself to some NERDS, Raisinets and popcorn (heavy on the butter), but make sure you save room for a couple slices.

And remember, the store is all yours for the night! So let loose, blast the boombox and wear your favorite ‘90s denim so that you feel right at home in another era.
