There are 13 different Kirby copy abilities for use in-game, including Sword, Hammer, Whip, Bomb, Ice, Spear, Tornado, Cutter, Doctor, Parasol, Beetle, Ninja, and Fighter. If you’ve played a Kirby game before you’ll know Kirby will adapt his traits to whatever ability he’s copied. This will undoubtedly make for some adorable combinations.

You’ll be playing with all these different, lovable Kirbys throughout 10 different battle modes, including Assemble! Apple Match, Battle Royale, Treasure Hunting, Attack Riders, Answer! Action Theater, Launch! Rocket Race, VS Robo Bonkers, Smash Hockey, Tossing Train, and Flag Shoot. So if it wasn’t immediately obvious, there’s a lot to do here.

Kirby: Battle Royale is slated for release on Jan. 19 in North America, so there’s a little bit of time left to wait until we can try out a brand new Kirby game, but there’s a lot to look forward to here, especially if you’re a fan of Kirby’s multitude of copy abilities.
