Insomniac Hires Former Naughty Dog Lead Designer For Spider-Man

Former Naughty Dog lead designer James Cooper is now working at Insomniac Games as a part of the team working on the upcoming Spider-Man game.

Announced on Cooper’s personal Twitter account today, followers of his may have been able to guess his new employer last week when he Tweeted a picture of a pair of Spider-Man-themed socks with the message “Picked up a new pair of socks for my first day at the new job next week.”

Prior to his transition to Insomniac Games, Cooper worked at Naughty Dog from October 2013 to March of this year, according to his LinkedIn page. Cooper worked at Naughty Dog as a game designer on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, then as the lead designer on Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

Cooper has also worked at Crytek UK as a designer on the console versions of Crysis, as well as Crysis 2, Homefront: The Revolution, as well as some other unreleased games. Before working for Crytek UK Cooper worked at CodeMasters as a level designer on Dirt 2 and as a games designer on Dirt 3.

The upcoming Spider-Man game Cooper is now working on is set to be released Sept. 7 as a PlayStation 4 exclusive title.
