Bandai Namco has just announced that the network stress test for Dark Souls Remastered will be running on May 11 and 12. At the time of writing, the test client is already available for download on both PS4 and Xbox One, and players will need to install it by May 8, which is when the client will be removed from storefronts. After that date, only those who have downloaded the client will be able to participate in the test.
It was also announced that the network test will allow players to test the PvP and online multiplayer aspects of the game, which means that you can invade other players using an in-game item. The test will be limited to the Undead Parish area, which is a location that’s accessed near the start of the game itself. Similar to the Dark Souls III stress test, we’re expecting that this test will give players the option to select from a few preset character builds. It’s unlikely that you’ll be able to carry over any progress to the final game.
Dark Souls Remastered is set to be released for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 25. PC users who already own the Prepare to Die Edition can purchase the game at a discounted price. The Switch version of the game was delayed, and will be coming some time this summer.
