Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Release Date Info Coming This Month

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

The Kickstarter-funded Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was originally slated for release in March of last year, according to the game’s Kickstarter campaign, but it has since been delayed to a much looser release window of 2018. However, it doesn’t look like it’ll be too long until we get something a little more concrete. An announcement on Bloodstained’s official Twitter account revealed that we will get new information regarding the game’s release date in the March Kickstarter update.

The topic was brought up at the recent SXSW Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night panel with Koji Igarashi, the game’s director. His translator said that “there’s no date yet but we are going to discuss about that–discuss about the release date and our alpha backer demo–in our April Kickstarter update. So look forward to that!” The above tweet was made a short while after the panel finished, explaining that the release date news for the alpha backer demo, as well as the game itself will be coming a month sooner than what was stated at the panel, bringing it forward from April to March.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is Koji Igarashi’s latest entry into the platform-adventure genre. His previous works include many of the Castlevania titles from Symphony of the Night onwards. Bloodstained adopts a similar style to Igarashi’s Castlevania games, and is considered to be a spiritual successor. It is currently planned for release on PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

We don’t know exactly when in March we’ll receive the Kickstarter update with the new release date information, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated.
