How to Beat Brreeeze Block in Yooka-Laylee

Once you’ve expanded the Glitterglaze Glacier Grand Tome in Yooka-Laylee, you’ll finally gain access to Brreeeze Block. This giant block of ice is the boss for this Grand Tome, and it can take a couple of tries to beat. Fortunately, if you know what you’re doing, the whole battle becomes far easier.

As a giant block of ice, Brreeeze Block is particularly prone to a bit of heat. As such, that fire plant towards the back of this room is going to be your best friend. Make sure you’ve got Slurp Shot from Trowzer and then use this to eat the flower by pressing B (Circle on PS4).

You’ll now need to time your attacks to avoid Brreeeze Block’s projectile attacks. Be sure to use the moving fan at the back of the room as cover when it begins launching projectiles at you. Once the attack has subsided, simply head out and press X/ Square to cover the ice block in flames. Slowly but surely, this will melt Brreeeze Block. The battle then really just becomes a case of repeating this over and over.

It’s worth noting, though, that the more you melt Brreeeze Block, the smaller it’ll become. This will then make hitting him with your fire breath much harder as he’s not only a smaller target, but he’s also bouncing around the wall even faster. He’ll also fire more and more projectiles at you each time, too, so be sure not to rush out of cover too quickly.
