Developed by Monolith Soft, Xenoblade Chronicles was originally released for the Wii back in 2010. This month, it’s finally making a comeback on the Nintendo Switch with the release of the Definitive Edition which brings upgraded graphics, an arranged soundtrack, as well as new story content. Much of the game remains the same, and you’ll still be exploring a large open world with tons of enemies to fight. Here’s how to flee from battles in Xenoblade Chronicles.
Fleeing from Battles in Xenoblade Chronicles
The open world in Xenoblade Chronicles is insanely huge and just teeming with so many enemy types roaming around and waiting for you. Most enemies you encounter should be within your level range, but every so often, you might come across some truly dangerous types that can crush you if you’re not careful.
Whenever you get into a battle you can’t win, a better option might be to try to flee instead. The good news is that you can basically flee from every battle (barring boss fights, of course) and run to safety.
To do this, press down on the d-pad while engaged in combat to access the green flee icon, then press the A button to confirm your selection. This allows Shulk to put away his weapon and run away normally. It’s possible to try to run while engaged in combat, but by choosing the flee option, you can run faster and put more distance between you and your enemies.

It’s also worth noting that if enemies spot you in the open world and try to fight, you can continue running to escape the battle without having to engage.
That’s all you need to know about how to flee from battles in Xenoblade Chronicles. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
