Learning New Abilities in Triangle Strategy

  1. For every two or three levels that your units gain, they’ll also learn a new ability.

The game will inform you when they’ve acquired a new ability, and you’ll also be able to check them from the character info screen via the Roster.

  2. You’ll also need to promote your units in order to gain access to even more abilities.

Past level 10, all future abilities will be locked behind class promotions. This means that you’ll need to promote them to the next class to unlock more abilities as they level up. Without a promotion, your units won’t learn anything new even if their levels increase.

As mentioned above, you can bring up the menu and select the Roster option, then take a look at the character info screen for each of your units to see all abilities they’ve unlocked so far, as well as potential ones they can get in the future. This should help you to make more informed decisions about which units you might want to promote first.

It’s definitely recommended that you promote your most essential units as soon as you can, as they’ll also be able to hold more TP and will gain more utility in battle.
