Gear Sets are another addition that have come as part of the Incursions update and exactly what they are and how to get them isn’t all that clear. So here’s what Gear Sets are, how to get them, and why you’ll want to grind for them.

What Are Gear Sets?

Gear Sets are… well… sets of gear that grant the wearer special bonuses when two or more items from the same set are equipped. Each Gear Set also has a unique talent when all four parts of the set are equipped at the same time.

The Incursion update has brought four gear sets with it, though there is always the possibility of more being added in future updates. Each of the Gear Sets is suited to a different style of play. For now, the four Gear Sets are:

  • Striker’s Battlegear – Provides bonuses for assault capabilities.
  • Path of the Nomad – Provides bonuses for lone wanderers.
  • Tactician’s Authority – Enhances electronics and support capabilities.
  • Sentry’s Call – Enhances marksman capabilities.

What Do They Do?

So while we know that each Gear Set suits a different style of play, you’ll probably be asking how they benefit the user? We’ve detailed the bonuses for each Gear Set below for you. The bonuses for each set unlock from top to bottom. For example, with Striker’s Battlegear, the + 20% Enemy Armor Damage unlocks when two pieces of the set are equipped, followed by + 100% Critical Hit Damage when three are equipped, and finally, the talent when the whole set is equipped.

Striker’s Battlegear

  • + 20% Enemy Armor Damage
  • + 100% Critical Hit Damage
  • Talent – Shooter: Every consecutive hit deals 1% more damage. Stacks up to 100%. Missing shots drops bonus by 2%. Bonus is reduced by 1% every second.

Path of the Nomad

  • + 50% Scavenging
  • + 20% Health on Kill
  • Talent – Nomad: When receiving fatal damage, you are instead healed to full health. Can occur once every 10 minutes.

Tactician’s Authority

  • + 4,000 Skill Power
  • + 20% Skill Haste
  • Talent – Tactician’s Authority: Every 60k damage your group deals, adds 1% skill power to you for a max of 100% bonus. Bonus is reduced by 1% every second the group isn’t dealing damage.

Sentry’s Call

  • + 30% Headshot Damage
  • + 20% Damage to Elites
  • Talent – Stalker: Headshots mark the enemy, increasing the damage inflicted on the target by 15% for a duration of 10 seconds each. A target can receive up to three marks.

Knowing exactly what the benefits of each Gear Set are will make it easier to decide which one will best suit your style of play in The Division. Now all you need to know is how to get them.

How to Get Them?

In order to get items from the Gear Sets, you’ll have to complete some of The Division’s most difficult challenges. There are a few different ways for you to unlock the items of these Gear Sets.

First is the way you can get a large majority of items from all of the different Gear Sets. Completing the new Incursion, Falcon Lost, on Hard difficulty will give you the chance of getting almost every item in the Gear Sets. Some pieces, however, such as those from the Path of the Nomad gear set, and the kneepads, gloves, and mask from the Striker’s Battlegear gear set require you to complete Falcon Lost on Challenge difficulty.

Another way to get some of these items is through buying and crafting the blueprint from the Base of Operations vendor. These will require a ton of crafting materials, however, so remember to stock up and deconstruct items that you’re not gonna be using.

The Dark Zone can also contain some pieces of gear that you’re after, too. These can be found by defeating a named enemy in the Dark Zone, or finding a random Supply Drop in the Dark Zone.

Finally, some of the pieces of these Gear Sets can be found by completing missions from The Division’s main story on Challenge difficulty. If you’re already used to grinding your way through missions then you’ll more than likely pick up some of these as you play.
